Our Journey to Getting Out of Debt - Bill 2 of 22 Done - 11/15/2018
Our quest to financial freedom!
Debt is not only a four-letter word, but it's a four letter word!
It's something people don't talk about, at least not openly. So it almost feels like debt is something you should keep hush-hush. But, the more we talk about debt, the more we can discuss the act of getting out of debt.
My husband and I have almost always had $130-$190,000 in debt. Seventy percent of that debt has always been crappy student loan debt spent on college degrees we don't even use, but are glad we have. Had my husband and I both not gone to Jacksonville - to separate schools - we would have never met. That's our one slight justification on having debt.
In addition to the seemingly never ending student loans, you have credit cards. I mean, we had to go to Florida, even when we didn't have the money...cause, guess what! We have credit cards! [**insert eye roll**}
Year-to-date, 2018, my husband and I have not used credit cards! In fact, we put all of our credit cards + important documents in our safety deposit box at the bank. Now if we want to use our credit cards, we have to go to the bank to get the card. It really makes you think about whether or not it's the right choice since you can't just grab a card out of your wallet and swipe!
